 Location: Hammersmith Project value: £880k Size: 5500 sq ft Kinetic were appointed by Qantas Cabin Crew UK to design and build their new A380 Training Centre in readiness for the arrival of their new A380 planes this autumn. The design process started in March 2008 working in close consultation with Qantas team in UK and Sydney Australia. The design incorporates training rooms, Admin office, training kitchen, specialist cold room and Training PODS that simulate the internal dimensions of the 747 and A380 cabins utilizing the actual airline seats within. The ground floor of the Qantas HQ was used to accommodate this facility and was stripped to a shell before new works could commence. This involved stripping out in full the existing air conditioning and perimeter heating system. Works involved new Air-conditioning with plant on roof, bespoke designed ceiling, low energy dimmable lighting and feature lighting, high grade partitioning and folding wall systems, full media package comprising 8 LCD TV’s, specialist airline power systems for training PODS, flooring, bespoke stainless steel kitchen, branding design , furniture sourcing and installation.
